Celtics surge in third quarter to take Game 2 of NBA Finals

Warriors will look to bounce back in Game 3 on Wednesday night

The Boston Celtics took a commanding 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals on Sunday night, beating the Golden State Warriors 123-116 in Game 2 at the newly renamed Chase Center in San Francisco.

The Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum, who scored a game-high 34 points, including the go-ahead basket with 1:42 remaining. Jaylen Brown added 27 points and Marcus Smart added 24 points for Boston.

The Warriors were led by Stephen Curry, who scored 27 points. Klay Thompson added 23 points and Andrew Wiggins added 19 points for Golden State.

The Celtics took control of the game in the third quarter. After trailing by 7 points at the half, the Celtics went on a 12-0 run to take a 77-72 lead. The Celtics would never trail again.

The Warriors will look to bounce back in Game 3 on Wednesday night at the TD Garden in Boston. The Celtics will be looking to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series, while the Warriors will be looking to avoid falling into a 3-0 hole.
